New Exhibition at the Fashion Museum
Exhibition “Mother and Child” spans an impressive period of 150 years: from year 1850 to 2000.
On the occasion of the Fashion Museum’s fifth anniversary, the exhibition features ladies’ and children’s costumes from the Fashion Museum’s collection. The exhibition focuses on the iconic image of mother and child and its changing manifestations in fashion: from the Victorian cult of the family and the strict rules of clothing and propriety that applied to both adults and children, to the more relaxed approach and comfortable clothing designed particularly for children of the 20th century. Visitors have the opportunity to see the voluminous ladies’ dresses of the 19th century with crinolines, girls’ dresses and boys’ suits, as well as the elegant costumes of the first half of the 20th century and contemporary fashion highlights in women’s and children’s clothing, as well as shoes, headdresses and toys.
